Mission Statement
The Los Santos County Sheriff Department work in sync with the LSPD and Blaine county sheriff's office to fight crime across the state. The BCSO Are responsible for the areas of Sandy Shores and Paleto Bay however work in the city too. The BCSO have the Specialist Detective Unit who work with other departments to tackle major crime within Los Santos County.
Rank Structure in the LSCS
Sheriff
The Sheriff is the head of the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department and all of its internal entities. The Sheriff holds executive power over the entire Department and may appoint deputies to carry out his or her duties.
Under Sheriff
The Undersheriff is the second head of the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department and will act as the Head of the Department in the absence of a Sheriff. The Undersheriff oversees the Assistant Sheriff(s) and their day-to-day operations.
Chief Deputy
Assistant Sheriffs are senior executives in the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department and are assigned to a specific area of the Department. Each Assistant Sheriff holds executive power within their assigned area and is responsible for its day to day operations.
Commander
Commanders are considered senior Command Staff and they are assigned to a specific Bureau of the Department, where they have executive power within. They are responsible for day to day operations within divisions assigned to their Bureau.
Captain
Captains are Command Staff and they are assigned to a specific division of the Department, where they have executive power within. They are responsible for day to day operations within their division, and as Command Staff, they are responsible for outlined responsibilities one which includes supervising Supervisory Staff.
Lieutenant
A Lieutenant is the top rank in the Blaine County Sheriff Office's Supervisor team, responsible for watching and looking after the newly promoted Supervisors and Training Staff to ensure they are receiving the correct training and guidance to help them develop into natural leaders. In the event that a member of the Administration Staff or Senior Staff is not available, information regarding patrol and promotions may be passed down to officers of this rank.
Sergeant
The next three ranks are the first supervisory positions within the department, allowing officers to be dispatched to scenes requiring someone with higher authority than the initiating officer. Officers of this rank are also able to now direct a sub-division if the opportunity becomes available.
Senior Sheriff Deputy
This is where the Departments's first Training Supervisor rank and proves you have outshone others in the field. You are now eligible to begin your Supervisor Training Course and apply to be an Academy Helper if you so wish.
Sheriff Deputy
Becoming a Sheriff Deputy means you are officially a member of the Blaine County Sheriff's Office. Deputy I is the status given to all officers after the complete their probationary course. Deputy III is the official rank where you may apply to be apart of a subdivision.
Recruit
The first steps onto the career ladder with the Blaine County Sheriff's Office. This is the entry-level classification given to all civilians who sign up for the Law Enforcement Academy.
